Abstract
This Regulation lays down rules governing the marketing of eggs produced in the European Community or imported from third countries. These marketing conditions apply also to eggs intended for export outside the European Community. Member States may exempt from the requirements of this Regulation (with the exception of marking conditions) eggs sold directly to the final consumer by the producer (a) on the production site, or (b) in a local public market or by door-to-door selling in the region of production of the Member State concerned.
