Abstract
This Directive lays down some amendments to Directive 96/22/EC which regards the prohibition on the use in stockfarming of certain substances which have a hormonal or thyrostatic action and of beta-agonists. In accordance with new article 2, Member States shall prohibit: (a) the placing on the market of the substances listed in Annex II, list A, for administering to animals of all species; (b) the placing on the market of the substances listed in Annex II, list B, for administering to animals, the flesh and products of which are intended for human consumption, for purposes other than those provided for in point 2 of article 4 and in article 5a. New article 11a lays down the duty of the Commission to elaborate and present particular reports. New Annexes II and III contain the list of prohibited and provisionally prohibited substances respectively.
