Abstract
This Regulation establishes requirements and procedure for the use of medicinal products and medicated feed for the prevention and treatment of animal diseases. The use of medicinal products and medicated feedingstuffs means their prescription, dispensing, storage and administration to animals and keeping records of these operations. The requirements laid down in this Regulation protect consumers of food of animal origin from health problems caused by the treatment of animals and prevent other disorders in humans or animals. More specifically, the Regulation provides for requirements for medicinal products and medicated feedingstuffs used; requirements for prescribing medicinal products and medicated feedingstuffs; requirements for dispensing medicinal products to keepers; requirements for storage of medicinal products and medicated feedingstuffs; requirements for administration of medicinal products and medicated feedingstuffs; procedure for prescribing medicinal products and medicated feedingstuffs; procedure for dispensing medicinal products; procedure for administration of the medicinal product; and keeping track of medicines.
