Act to amend the Milk Hygiene Act (No. 1564 of 1994).

The amendments to the principal Act are made in consequence of the implementation of legislation of the European Communities and the adjustment to of Finland to the common market. A new Chapter 5a outlines hygiene requirements for the trade in milk and milk products within the European Community. The new Chapter 5b concerns the supervision of the trade in milk and milk products with third countries. Several other provisions are amended so as to provide for the new arrangement. These amendments concern mainly tasks of national and local authorities.
