Abstract
The present Decree contains provisions on the control of animal diseases classified as diseases in categories B and C. The Act contains 47 articles organized in the following chapters: 1. General provisions; 2. Disease-free status and eradication programs; 3. Control of diseases in categories B and C occurring in terrestrial animals in an area that has obtained disease-free status; 4. Control of diseases in categories B and C occurring in aquatic animals in an area that has obtained disease-free status; 5. Control of brucellosis in cattle, sheep, and goats; 6. Control of infection with the Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex in cattle; 7. Control of rabies in pigs, cervids, camelids, and animals belonging to the families Bovidae or Equidae or the order Carnivora; 8. Control of Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis (IBR), Bovine Viral Diarrhea (BVD), and Leukosis in cattle; 9. Control of infection with African Swine Fever (ASF); 10. Control of Infectious Salmon Anemia (ISA), Infectious Hematopoietic Necrosis (IHN), and Viral Hemorrhagic Septicemia (VHS); 11. Special provisions. The Annex contains specifies areas to be monitored to achieve disease-free status. The Decree contains provisions on prohibited and mandatory vaccination against certain diseases. It further lays down rules on surveillance, preliminary disease control measures, and epidemiological investigations in an area that has disease-free status; measures for disease control when a disease has been detected in an area that has disease-free status; and corresponding moving restrictions.
