Abstract
These Regulations;(a) require wheat flour to contain certain essential ingredients specified in column 1 of Schedule 1; (b) restrict the use of certain ingredients (specified in Schedule 3) in preparation of flour and bread and require an indication given of the of the flour treatment agent used; (c) give rules regarding the names of bread; (d) create offences and specify enforcement authorities; (e) provide for defence for persons charged with offence under these Regulations; and (f) apply various sections of the Food Safety Act 1990. It shall be a defence in any proceedings for an offence under these Regulations that food in respect of which the offence alleged to be committed was intended for export to a country which has legislation analogous to these Regulations and that the food complies with that legislation.
