Abstract
This Order makes provisions with respect to measures to control of foot and mouth disease in England. It carries into effect provisions of the Council Directive 2003/85/EC on Community measures for the control of foot and mouth disease except insofar as it deals with vaccination against that disease.
The Order makes provision, among other things, for notification, suspicion and investigation of the disease and measures applying following confirmation of the disease applying also to edible products such as meat and milk. It also provide for protection and surveillance zones around infected premises in case of an outbreak in Scotland or Wales close to the border with England.
