Abstract
These Regulations enforce in England Regulation (EC) No 1069/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council on laying down health rules as regards animal by-products and derived products not intended for human consumption and other Community legislation on health, veterinary checks and animal by-products not intended for human consumption. They also enforce Commission Regulation (EU) No 142/2011. The Regulations, among other things: designate the Secretary of State as the competent authority; provide for procedure and appeals in respect of registration and approval of operators, establishments or plants; appoint enforcement authorities; and make provision for powers of enforcement.
