Abstract
These Regulations implement for England Council Directive 2001/112/EC relating to fruit juices and certain similar products intended for human consumption. They regulate the use of the names and other labelling requirements for: fruit juice, fruit juice from concentrate, concentrated fruit juice, water extracted fruit juice, dehydrated fruit juice and powdered fruit juice and fruit nectar. They also: lay down what additional ingredients and substances may be added to regulated products and what treatments the products may undergo in their manufacture, impose an obligation on food authorities to enforce the Regulations, and apply, with modifications, section 10 of the Food Safety Act 1990 in respect of improvement notices and some other provisions of that Act.
