Abstract
These Regulations provide for the execution and enforcement in England of Regulation (EC) No. 1332/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council on food enzymes by declaring: (a) the placing on the market or use of food enzymes that are not listed or are not compliant with the EC Regulation and its implementing measures; (b) failing to label food enzymes or enzyme preparations in accordance with the relevant requirements or to provide certain technical information to the Commission in specified circumstances, to be an offence. In addition, the Regulations: designate enforcing authorities; apply certain specified provisions of the Food Safety Act 1990 for the purpose of these Regulations; and apply provisions relating to seizure and destruction under section 9 of the Food Safety Act 1990 to food that has been placed on the market in contravention with these Regulations.
