Abstract
This Act makes provision with respect to the control on the handling of radioactive substances and the disposal of radioactive waste.
The Act contains provisions relating, among other things, to: registration relating to use of radioactive material and mobile radioactive apparatus, authorization of disposal and accumulation of radioactive waste and enforcement and prohibition notices in respect of non-compliance with authorizations granted under this Act or activities that involve an imminent risk of pollution of the environment or of harm to human health. The Act also defines offences and prescribes penalties.
