Abstract
This Order makes provision for a variety of matters in relation to fishing in the Tweed district including: establishment and functioning of the River Tweed Commission (which shall be responsible for the preservation and increase of salmon and freshwater fish in the district); methods of fishing; close times for salmon and trout; other protection measures for trout and salmon; introduction of fish or fish eggs into certain waters; exemptions in relation to fish farming; Salmon conservation orders and General Orders by the Scottish Ministers; enforcement; offences.

This Order repeals the Tweed Fisheries Act 1857, the Freshwater and Salmon Fisheries (Scotland) Act 1976, the Salmon Act 1986 and the Tweed Fisheries Act 1969. Other revocations and amendments are set out in Schedule 3.
