Abstract
These Regulations amend the Beet Seed (Wales) Regulations 2005, Cereal Seed (Wales) Regulations 2005, Fodder Plant Seed (Wales) Regulations 2005, Vegetable Seed (Wales) Regulations 2005 and Seed (Registration, Licensing and Enforcement) (Wales) Regulations 2005 so as to give effect to provisions of Council Decision 2005/834/EC and Commission Directive 2006/124/EC. The amendments concern the marketing of certain pre-basic seed that has been officially certified in third countries, the labelling of such seed, a derogation to the requirement to apply the marketing provisions of Council Directive 2002/55/EC for specified seeds, purity standards for sweet corn/popcorn, sampling and some other issues of minor importance.
