Abstract
This Order requires a person who has in his or her possession or under his or her charge an animal or carcase, a veterinary surgeon or other person, in the course of his or her duties, to give immediately notice of a suspicion that an animals is infected with a disease listed in Schedule 1 to this Order. Specific provisions regarding the notification of the (suspected) presence of spongiform encephalopathy are included. For the purposes of the Animal Health Act 1981 in its application to provisions of this Order, the definition of animals and disease of the Act are here extended.
