Abstract
These Regulations apply to the certification and marketing of vegetable seed of the species specified in Schedule 2 to these Regulations. The Regulations include provisions that lay down the procedures relating to the certification of vegetable seed in Northern Ireland, including provisions relating to the entry of seed lots, the entry of crops, the field inspection of crops, the lodging of field inspection reports and similar documents, the re-grading of crops, seed testing, the lodging of seed test reports, the re-grading of seed and the withdrawal of official certification.
The Regulations provide for certain derogations for acceptance of agricultural landraces and varieties which are naturally adapted to the local and regional conditions and threatened by genetic erosion and for marketing of seed potatoes of those landraces and varieties.
