Waste (Meaning of Recovery) (Miscellaneous Amendments) (Wales) Regulations 2016 (S.I. No. 691 (W. 189) of 2016).

These Regulations amend certain statutory instruments concerned with waste, which refer to Directive 2008/98/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on waste and repealing certain Directives. The amendments made by these Regulations are necessary in order to implement Commission Directive (EU) 2015/1127 amending Annex II to Directive 2008/98/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on Waste and repealing certain Directives. This Directive supplements Annex II and in particular it shows the method for establishing the energy efficiency formula value, to be multiplied by a climate correction factor. Annex II concerns recovery operations', i.e. any operation the principal result of which is waste serving a useful purpose by replacing other materials which would otherwise have been used to fulfil a particular function, or waste being prepared to fulfil that function, in the plant or in the wider economy. Annex II sets out a non-exhaustive list of recovery operations.
