Abstract
This Order prescribes rules for the protection of animals during transportation by various means. It makes provision in Northern Ireland for the administration and enforcement of Council Regulation (EC) No 1/2005 on the protection of animals during transport and related operations and of Council Regulation 1255/97 concerning Community criteria for staging points. The Regulations designate the competent authority for purposes of Community legislation, provide for inspection and define offences.
