Abstract
This law ratifies the international Convention for the prevention of pollution from ships which was signed in London on 2 November 1973 together with its Protocols and Annexes up to the Protocol signed in London on 17 February 1978, related to this Convention. The provisions of the Convention and the Protocol are to be read and interpreted together as one single instrument. The general obligation under this Convention for the contracting Parties is to preserve the marine environment by achieving the complete elimination of international pollution by oil and other harmful substances and the minimisation of accidental discharge of such substances. The Law consists of 14 articles laying down rules for the implementation of the Convention in the Greek territory.
