Abstract
The Law establishes the common Register for traders processing agricultural products and raw materials within the national territory. All traders in the sector have the obligation of registering with the system (computerized database) which shall be open for public consultation and shall be managed by the Department of Agriculture Policy and Documentation of the Ministry of Agricultural Development and Foodstuffs. Previously established Registers referring to specific sectors (seed trade, propagation material, animal feedstuffs, etc.) shall be unified and shall constitute part of the present Register. Chapter A of the law (articles 1 to 7) sets forth the administrative procedures for registration. Chapter B (articles 8 to 14) deals with amendments to existing legislation regarding a variety of subjects. More specifically, article 9 replaces paragraph 1, article 5 of Royal Decree No. 24.9/2010.1958 as regards the lease of public pasture lands. Certain provisions of Law No. 2538/1997 regarding licensees for vending agricultural and veterinary pharmaceuticals are amended according to the provisions of article 10 to this law. Article 12 of this law provides for amending paragraph 5 of article 11 to Law No. 2520/1997.
