Abstract
The aim of this Decree is to adopt the Greek legislative frame to the provisions of Council Directive 96/98/EC as regards the equipment on board of ships so as to enhance safety at sea and the prevention of marine pollution through the uniform application of the relevant international instruments relating to equipment, listed in Annex A to this Decree, to be placed on board of ships for which safety certificates are issued by or on behalf of the Directorate for Control of Mercantile Ships, pursuant to international conventions and to ensure the free movement of such equipment within the Community. The Decree adopts all articles and Annexes of the Directive.
