Abstract
This Law prescribes all necessary measures and methods aimed to organize and to conduct the protection and improvement of air quality on the territory of the Croatian Republic, as an essential part of the national and global environment, as well as an common good that has special protection and care of the national Government and its related bodies and competent organizations.
The protection and improvement of the air quality can also be implemented with the provisions of Environmental protection Law unless otherwise provided by this Law.
The main purpose of this basic act it to protect and improve the air quality, including the following goals: to preserve the health of the population, wildlife, cultural and material values; to achieve the best possible air quality on the monitored territory; to prevent or at least to reduce the pollution that is partially responsible for climate changes; to establish, maintain, and to improve as much as possible the complete system of air quality management on the State territory.
This Law is divided into 8 Chapters and 55 articles, including all related technical requirements and standards, and offences and penalties.
