Abstract
This Law sets the provisions and rules governing over the safe and controlled use of food additives, flavorings and food enzymes in production and processing of foodstuff, also in terms of official controls, conditions for food operators, and related offences and penalties (Chapter VII).
This Law further establishes the competent national bodies and authorities that will be responsible for the effective implementation and related control over the adoption of necessary rules and respected principles, as regards several indicated European Union and Council Regulations, listed in article 1 of this text.

Entry into force notes
This Law enters into force on the day of the Croatian accession to the European Union, except for the provisions of the article 9 that will enter into force on 1 January 2014.
