Abstract
This Law establishes the authority, tasks of the competent authorities, the manner for the correct and necessary implementation of official controls, methods of treatment and analysis, methods for the official reporting to the European Commission and the obligations of business operators in the implementation of the prescribed rules and requirements relayed to the nutrition and health claims, and foods enriched with nutrients that is produced, placed on the market, imported or exported on the territory of the Croatian Republic.
The competent authority for the implementation of this Law, its related Regulations and decisions, and Regulations adopted pursuant to this Law is the Croatian Ministry responsible for health and its official monitoring bodies (inspections).
This Law further prescribes various specific technical standards and requirements, including the offences and related penalties.
The Law is divide into 7 Chapters and 16 articles.

Entry into force notes
This Law will be published in the "Official Gazette" and shall enter into force on the day of Croatian accession to the European Union.
