Order on measures to suppress and prevent the occurrence of smallpox on the territory of the Republic of Croatia.

Abstract
This Order, due to the occurrence of smallpox in the area of Sisak-Moslavina County, on the entire territory of the Republic of Croatia, sets the following necessary measures: 1. Owners of cattle, sheep, goats, ungulates and pigs are obliged to report any change in health status and any death to the veterinarian without delay; 2. The owners are obliged to ensure that the carcass is kept separate from other animals and people before shipping for the purpose of harmless disposal and to act in accordance with the veterinarian's instructions; 3. Veterinarians are obliged to clinically examine the sick animal, and in the case of sudden (peracute) death or death of animals with previously established clinical signs of dengue fever, refer the carcass for sampling in order to rule out dengue fever; 4. Veterinarians are obliged to familiarize the owner with personal protection measures and biosecurity measures in relation to cleaning and disinfection of the premises. Vaccine and other preventive measures in defined zones shall be implemented as specified in article 2.
