Abstract
This Regulation prescribes quality requirements that the production and placing on the market must comply with when treating cheeses and cheese products, which are related to: a) terms, definitions and general requirements that must be met; b) composition of added ingredients and other substances used in production and processing; c) additional labelling requirements.
Due to the water content of fat-free substances in cheese, and the consistency and structure, cheese are produced and marketed under specific names: a) extra-hard cheese; b) hard cheese; c) semi-hard cheese; d) soft cheese; e) cheese.
The Annex is an integral part of this Regulation.

Entry into force notes
This Regulation enters into force eight days after its publication in the Official Gazette, except for the provisions of paragraph 2 of article 11, and table 2 of Annex I which shall have effect from 1 January 2011.
