Abstract
This Regulation prescribes the manner of collection, preservation, description, evaluation and use of plant genetic resources in agriculture and the operation and organization of plant gene bank of agricultural plants on the Croatian territory.
The collection and preservation of genetic resources on Croatian territory are carried out within the National Programme for plant genetic resources in agriculture.
The National program includes the following activities: a) inventory of genetic resources; b) collection of genetic resources; c) the preservation in-situ and ex situ; d) description and evaluation of genetic resources; e) capacity building for storage; f) study of genetic resources; g) development of appropriate legislation; h) regulation of use and sharing of genetic resources; i) informing the public about the importance of conservation of genetic resources.
The Annex is an integral part of this Regulation.

Entry into force notes
This Regulation enters into force eight days after its publication in the Official Gazette, except for the provisions of article 9 which will enter into force on 1 January 2005.
