Abstract
This Law regulates the manufacture, distribution and import of agricultural propagating material of varieties of agricultural plants, the registration of varieties of agricultural plants in the list of varieties, the maintenance of varieties of agricultural plants, the competence of certain bodies in the affairs of this Law and the regulations made under this Law, the inspection control and other issues of major importance to the implementation of a uniform system of agricultural seeds and seedlings.
This Law shall apply to agricultural raw materials of the following groups and plant species: wheat, sugar beet, potatoes, fodder crops, oil crops and fiber crops, vegetables, fruits, vines and ornamental plants.
This Law does not apply to: agricultural raw materials intended for export to third countries; agricultural raw material that is produced in a Member State of the Community and placed on the Croatian market.
The production, distribution and importation of genetically modified agricultural propagating material, recognition of genetically modified agricultural propagating material, are also subjects to the provisions of the Law on Genetically Modified Organisms (Official Gazette 70/05) and other specific regulations governing this the area.
