Abstract
This Regulation determines the chemical composition, physical properties and grades of raw milk used in the production of drinking milk and deriving dairy products. The determination of the composition of raw milk is also carried out for the purpose of submitting notifications in accordance with Commission Regulation (EU) No 479/2010 of 1 June 2010 laying down rules for the implementation of Council Regulation (EC) no. Regulation (EC) No 1234/2007 as regards the notification to the Commission by the Member States in the milk and milk products sector.
The provisions of this text shall apply to raw milk derived from domestic animals of the bovine, ovine and caprine species. Raw milk must meet the conditions set out in Annex I of this Regulation. Raw milk shall be tested for the purpose of determining the content of milk fat, protein, non-fat dry matter and determining the freezing point. Standards and different technical issues are also here specified. Article 2 indicates related European Union reference terms and legislation/standards.
