Abstract
This Regulation prescribes methods for the search on the presence of Trichinella in meat, the obligations of competent authorities and operators in food business, the allocation and revocation of health status, veterinary requirements for imports and enforcement of official control and monitoring of trichinosis.
For purpose of this Regulation, the term Trichinella larvae includes all other similar forms belonging to the genus Trichinella.
The competent authority shall ensure that the personnel involved in search of samples for the presence of Trichinella has to be properly trained and to participate in: a) quality control program researches for the presence of Trichinella; b) making regular researches, records and analysis procedures used in the laboratory.
Subjects in the food business whose economies are recognized as free from Trichinella shall inform the competent authority of any failure to comply with the request as well as any changes that may affect the free status of trichinosis.
The Annex is an integral part of this Regulation.
