Abstract
This Regulation provides the conditions for the recognition and inclusion of guarded varieties (of cultivable plants present on the territory of the Republic of Croatia) into the National List of Varieties that is directly transposed into the Common Varieties Journal of the European Union (including all necessary and all related additional issues for such plant variety recognition).
This text transposes the following document and their principles into the Croatian legal system: Commission Directive 2008/62/EC of 20 June 2008 laying down certain derogations for the recognition of guarded-kept plant varieties that are naturally adapted to local and regional conditions and threatened by genetic erosion and for marketing of seed and seed potatoes of such varieties; Commission Directive 2009/145/EC of 26 November 2009 which provides for certain derogations, for acceptance of guarded vegetable varieties that are traditionally grown in specific areas and regions and are threatened by genetic erosion and vegetable varieties with no real value for commercial crop production, or that have been developed for growing under specific conditions and on the marketing of guarded seed varieties; and Commission Directive 2010/60/EU of 30 August 2010 laying down certain derogations for the marketing of seed mixtures of forage crops intended for the preservation of the natural environment.
The Annex is an integral part of this Regulation.
