Abstract
This Regulation prescribes the necessary quality standards that have to be observed in the production, processing and marketing of meat products.
This text regulates the following topics: names, definitions and general requirements; composition, physico-chemical and sensory properties; nature and quantity of raw materials and other ingredients used in production and processing; specific and additional labelling requirements and issues. This text is also compliant with the terms provided by the Directive (EU) 2015/1535 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 September 2015 laying down a procedure for the provision of information in the field of technical regulations and of rules on Information Society services. Several other European union document references are listed in the Article 3. The provisions of this Regulation shall not apply to products lawfully manufactured and/or put on the market in another Member State of the European Union or Turkey or legally produced in a State belonging to the European Free Trade Association which is a party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area.
The Annexes is also part of this publication (classification of meat products).
