Abstract
This Regulation provides for complete quality requirements in the production and placing on the market of milk and milk products intended for consumption, and related to the: names, definitions and general requirements that must be met; sensory properties and composition; type and quantity of raw materials, added ingredients and other substances used in the production and processing; additional labelling and packaging requirements and related standards.
The provisions of this Regulation shall not apply to products that are lawfully manufactured and/or marketed in the European Union Member State or lawfully manufactured in EFTA State that is a contracting party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area.
The Annex is an integral part of this Regulation.

Entry into force notes
This Regulation enters into force eight days after its publication in the Official Gazette.
Notes
On the effective date of this Regulation, the provisions of the Regulation on the quality of milk, dairy products, rennet and pure cultures (Official Gazette 53/91 and 158/03) will be no longer in force.
