Abstract
This Regulation determines the classification of waste management facilities engaged in mining industry waste management, including general and specific conditions for such waste management.
This text further defines preventive measures in relation to possible major accidents and necessary public information, and regulates the functions of mining industry waste management, as granted by the national Law on sustainable waste management. These rules are also setting goals, contents, and method for the preparation of the Mining industry waste management Plan, that shall be integrated with data collection issues (article 1, paragraph 2).
This Regulation adopts, as regards the Croatian legal system, the provisions of Directive 2006/21/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 March 2006 on the management of waste from extractive industries and amending Directive 2004/35/EC (article 2).
The Annex is part of this publication (Annexes I-VII, containing technical sheets and related instructions as regards the mining industry waste management; sample form of license for performance of mining industry waste management; list of waste management plant classification criteria).
