Abstract
This Regulation prescribes all necessary requirements to be met by natural mineral, natural spring and table waters in terms of their processing and marketing, and closely defines the following: physical, chemical, physico-chemical and organoleptic properties and composition; microbiological criteria; authorized technological treatment procedures; analytical methods; additional marking/labelling requirements; and the recognition procedure to be carried out before placing natural mineral and natural spring waters on the market.
This text transposes the provisions contained in the: Directive 2009/54/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 June 2009 on the exploitation and marketing of natural mineral waters; Commission Directive 2003/40/EC of 16 May 2003 determining the list, maximum levels and requirements for labelling of ingredients of natural mineral waters and the conditions for the use of air enriched with ozone in the processing of natural mineral waters and spring waters.
