Abstract
This Law establishes the authorities and duties of the competent authorities, the responsibilities of food and feed production sector, the official controls and administrative measures all regarding the food sector in Croatia (quality standards for food and feed).
This Law hereby regulates the following: jurisdiction for the establishment and implementation of food safety policy; competence in the field of risk analysis; general rules for the rapid alert system for food and feed at the national level; general rules on crisis management in the area of food and feed; activities of the Croatian Food Agency; establishment and coordination of various institutions; scientific and professional opinions and technical assistance; National measures necessary for the implementation of food safety policy.
The Law is divided into VII Chapters and 42 articles, including inspection provisions, offences and related penalties.
