Regulation on the placing on the market of vegetable seeds.

This Regulation prescribes the conditions for the certification of vegetable seeds, the categories and conditions for the production of vegetable seeds, the procedure for official supervision of their production, the processing methods, quality requirements, the procedure and method of issuing certificates, the method and conditions for packaging, sealing and marking/labelling, and the conditions for placing on the market including rules for imports. The provisions of this text apply to the production of vegetable seeds intended for marketing within the European Union. These provisions shall not apply to vegetable seeds intended for export to third countries. List of what is to be considered as vegetable seed is laid down in article 4.
