Abstract
This Regulation establishes the list of types of dangerous substances which are present in installations and may cause major accidents or which may be generated during a major accident; the method of determining quantities, permitted quantities and criteria according to which those substances are categorised as dangerous.
The Regulation sets out special obligations of the company or operator in undertaking measures for preventing major accidents, obligations in case of a significant change in the installation, obligations in case of a major accident, procedure and obligations in case of major accidents with transboundary effects, obligations to limit the consequences of major accidents, and other requirements and measures for preventing major accidents in accordance with internationally recognised standards and regulations.
