Abstract
This Regulation stipulates the official list of dangerous substances, sets the necessary methods for determining the quantities allowed and the criteria for classifying them as dangerous; and various other issues all regarding the prevention of major accidents involving hazardous substances.
The following Directives of the European Union are transposed by this Regulation as follows: Council Directive 96/82/EC of 9 December 1996 on the control of major-accident hazards involving dangerous substances; Directive 2003/105/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 2003 amending Council Directive 96/82/EC on the control of major-accident/hazards involving dangerous substances; and Council Directive 2012/18/EU of 4 July 2012 on the control of major-accident and hazards involving dangerous substances, amending and subsequently exempting Council Directive 96/82/EC.
The Annex is an integral part of this publication.
