Abstract
This Regulation prescribes general requirements for quality, definition, description, presentation and labelling of alcoholic beverages as well as the protection of geographical indications of spirit drinks.
The provisions of this Regulation shall apply to all spirit drinks which are located on the Croatian market, those produced in the Republic of Croatia and others produced outside, also ones produced in Croatia but intended for export.
This Regulation shall also apply to the use of ethyl alcohol and/or distillates of agricultural origin in the production of alcoholic beverages and for the use of names for alcoholic drinks in the presentation and labelling of food.
Strong alcoholic drinks are classified into categories according to the definitions set out in Annex 2 of this Regulation.
The Annex is an integral part of this Regulation.

Entry into force notes
This Regulation enters into force eight days after its publication in the Official Gazette.
Notes
On the effective date of this Regulation, the Regulation on spirit drinks and alcoholic beverages (Official Gazette 172/04, 73/07) and the Regulation on the recognition and the protection of spirit drinks and aromatised drinks (Official Gazette 20/07) will be no longer in use.
