Regulation on the traceability of bluefin tuna and igloos.

This Regulation prescribes the manner for the implementation of the traceability system for bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus) and igun (Xiphias gladius).
These rules are stipulated in order to offer the: correct marking of tuna and igloos for the purpose of ensuring their full traceability; necessary conditions for “traceability proof”; method of delivery and receipt of such traceability data, including the method for registration of users into the sales chain data system.
The rules of this Regulation shall only apply to tuna and igloos caught by fishing vessels flying the flag of the Republic of Croatia, and it shall apply to tuna grown in the Republic of Croatia which is placed on the market of the Republic of Croatia. This Regulation shall further apply to all entities in the tuna and igloo business engaged in the activities of fishing, catching, landing, transport and storage, processing and distribution, and trade of tuna and igloo on the market of the Republic of Croatia. Tuna and igloo must be traceable from catches or catches, landings, during transport and storage, processing and distribution to the final consumer. Obligations of users of the traceability system-the holder of the commercial fishing privilege are defined in the article 5 (including the indications of the relevant geographical area where the catch was made FAO zone and fishing zone/subzone; obligations of users of the traceability system-aquaculture permit holder (article 8); data for the end consumer is listed in article 12.
