Regulation on traceability of bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus) and igloo (Xiphias gladius).

This Regulation here determines and establishes the method of implementation of the traceability system for bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus) and for eel (Xiphias gladius), including terms and rules regarding the necessary labelling of tuna and eel that are aimed to ensure and guarantee the effective traceability. This text further defines the requirements for proof of traceability, method of delivery and receipt of relevant traceability data, and method of user registration in the sales chain among deriving obligations. This Regulation shall apply to tuna and eel caught by fishing vessels flying the Croatian flag and intended to be placed on the market for human consumption; and also applies on tuna grown in the Republic of Croatia that is placed on the market of the Republic of Croatia. These provisions are meant for all entities in the food business that carry out the activities of catching, landing, transporting and storing, buying, selling and distributing tuna and eel on the market of the Republic of Croatia.
