Decree No. 127 of 2008 (IX. 29.) FVM of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on animal health requirements for aquaculture animals and products, and on the prevention and control of certain diseases in aquatic animals.

This Decree contains animal health rules of marketing, import and transit of aquaculture animals and products thereof. In connection with animal diseases, it contains minimum preventive measures aimed to increase the consciousness and preparation of food-chain control bodies, of aquaculture enterprises managers and other persons having any interest in this sector and protective measures to be applied in case of suspect or break-out of certain diseases in aquatic animals. Chapter I contains general provisions. Chapter II provides rules concerning aquaculture enterprises and approved processing plants. Chapter III sets forth animal health requirements for the marketing of aquaculture animals and products thereof. Chapter IV deals with the importation from third countries of aquaculture animals and products thereof. Chapter V provides rules on notification of diseases in aquatic animals and minimum measures for the protection against epidemics. Chapter VI contains rules regarding protective programs and vaccination. Chapter VII lays down provisions regarding the classification as “disease-free”. Chapter VIII provides for national reference laboratories. Chapter IX contains rules concerning electronic information and sanctions. Chapter X lays down provisions for molluscs farming areas. Chapter XI contains transitory and final provisions.
