Abstract
This Decree regards the control of liquid waste into the environment. As industrial activities may potentially cause environmental pollution it is necessary to control the disposal of liquid waste. Article 1 states the Liquid Waste Quality Standard to be the maximum limit of liquid waste permitted for disposal into the environment. "Bapedal" is defined as the Agency for Control of Environmental Impacts (art. 1). Article 2 states the liquid waste quality standard for industrial activities including ethanol, pesticides and nitrogen fertilizer. Pollution control measures include the imposition of obligations for parties assuming responsibility for industrial activities. These include waterproof sewers, records of actual production and the installation of gauges measuring rate of liquid waste (art. 6).
