Abstract
This Government Regulation, implementing provisions of the Law no. 4 of 2009 on Mineral and Coal Mining, in its last amended version, provides for implementation of mineral and coal mining business activities. The Regulation concerns: classification of minerals and coal mining into five categories; exploration, feasibility studies, transportation of minerals, and post-mining activities; mining business licence; agreement between the government and a mining Indonesian companies; refining mining commodities; mining cooperative. Matters covered by this Regulation concerns: preparation and content of National Mineral and Coal Mining Management Plan; environmental preservation; spatial planning and zoning; availability of mining land; quantity of mineral resources and coal reserves; procedures for business licensing in the field of minerals and coal mining; mineral and coal reserve sustainability funds; community mining licence; allocation of special mining business licence areas; land use for mining activities.
