Presidential Regulation no. 38 of 2023 concerning the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries.

This Presidential Regulation provides for defining functions, tasks and the organisation of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries and of its departments and agencies. The Regulation defines the following duties: formulation and implementation of Policies in the areas of marine space management, marine environmental protection, capture fisheries management, aquaculture, competitiveness of marine and fisheries products, supervision of marine and fisheries resource management; development of marine and fisheries human resources; implementation of quality and safety control and supervision of marine and fisheries products; the Regulation specifies the following functions of the Directorate General of Marine and Marine Space Management: planning, control and development of marine spatial planning, management, preservation, conservation, use of marine, coastal and small island resources, conservation of fish resources, adaptation and mitigation of marine disasters, protection and empowerment of salt farmers, preparation of norms, standards, procedures and criteria in the fields of planning, control and development of marine spatial planning.
