Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry no. P.4/MENLHK/SETJEN/PHPL.3/1/2016 regarding Limitations of the Area of Business Permits for Utilisation of Timber Forest Products in Natural Forests or Forest Plantation in Production Forests.

This Ministerial Regulation, implementing article 17 of the Government Regulation no. 6 of 2007 concerning Forest Administration and preparation of Forest Management and Utilisation Plans, in its last amended version, provides for the inclusion of the biodiversity conservation approach in the limitation of the area of business permits for the utilisation of timber forest products. The Regulation concerns: production forest; issuance of business permits; limitation on the area of the business license for the utilisation of timber forest products in industrial plantations and natural forests, in order to provide justice and equality in its implementation and take into consideration sustainable use of forests. According to the Regulation, forest conservation aspects include: environmental sustainability, sustainable production, implementation of social and cultural knowledge in partnership with local communities.
