Abstract
This Regulation, consisting of 60 articles, based on the provisions of the the Presidential Regulation no. 92 of 2020 concerning the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, and of the Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry Number 15 of 2021 concerning the organisation and work procedure of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, provides for improving tasks, functions, and work procedures of the following technical implementation units at the Directorate General of Natural Resources and Ecosystem Conservation: unit of the national park agency, for the conservation and management of natural resources in the national parks; natural resources conservation technical unit, focused on the conservation and management of natural resources, genetic resources, biodiversity, and their ecosystems in wildlife reserves, nature tourism parks, and hunting parks.
The Regulation specifies duties, functions and organisational structure of the two units. Concerning the unit of the national park agency, the Regulation focuses on: preparation of management plans for the conservation of natural resources; implementation of security measures in protected areas; implementation of damage control measures of biological natural resources; controlling forest fires in national parks; sustainable use of wild plants, wild animals and genetic resources in national parks; preservation of wild plant and animal species, their habitats and the traditional knowledge; surveillance and control of infectious diseases originating from wildlife; control of spread of invasive and alien species in national parks; empowerment of community management in the national parks. Concerning the natural resources conservation technical unit, the Regulation focuses on: implementation and management of security measures in nature reserves, wildlife reserves, nature tourism parks and hunting parks; controlling the circulation of species and genetics of wild plants and animal; determination and management of corridors of wildlife and essential ecosystem areas; biosafety measures.
