Abstract
These Regulations implement in Ireland Council Directive 92/35/EEC laying down control rules and measures to combat African horse sickness. They provide for control measures in respect of the disease such as notification of African Horse Sickness; declaration of suspected premises case of suspicion of outbreak; declaration of infected zone by the minister in case of confirmation of outbreak of the disease; declaration of contact premises; establishment of protection and surveillance zones; and special processing of equine carcasses, other animal waste, including offal. Veterinary inspection shall be carried out on all premises with equidae within the protection zone.
