Abstract
These Regulations apply to the type or breed of protected animals to which the collection of data applies. The Minister may provide a food business operator access to data held on the Animal Identification and Movement system (Animal Identification and Movement system” means an established and continuing animal tracing system (including a database) referred to in section 63 of the Animal Health and Welfare Act 2013 or regulation 9 of the European Union (Animal Identification and Tracing) Regulations 2023 ( S.I. No 254 of 2023) to verify the disease status and eligibility of an animal or animal product destined for the export market. A food business operator shall not export to a third country an animal or animal product where the export conditions require the animal or animal product to meet certain criteria in relation to notifiable diseases, without first verifying that the animal or animal product is eligible for export on the Animal Identification and Movement system.
