Abstract
These Regulations implement Commission Directive 2001/50/EC amending Directive 95/45/EC laying down specific purity criteria concerning colours for use in foodstuffs. Purity criteria concern the specifications and analytical techniques for all approved additives. This Statutory Instrument replaces the purity criteria specification for the colours mixed carotenes (E160a(i)) and beta-carotene (E160a(ii)) which had originally been laid down in Directive 95/45/EC.
